Overview
LinkSpace is an award-winning case management tool that’s used to secure and manage authorisations for covert activity. This includes recruiting covert human intelligence sources (CHIS), obtaining permissions for surveillance, and property interference.
LinkSpace supports restricted and sensitive case management where access control and confidentiality are critical. It enables secure handling of investigations, whistleblowing, safeguarding, and high-risk cases, using controlled workflows and role-based permissions that are aligned to public sector governance requirements.
With our secure, auditable workflows, applicants, managers and administrators can all be confident that they’re tracking every part of the end to end process, and adhering to the relevant legislation where relevant.
Covert case management in the Ministry of Justice
In the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), our covert case management system is used by staff when they need to get permission for activity such as doing surveillance on particular persons of interest, or using CHISs.
Because of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) legislation that came into force in 2000, covert activities such as surveillance is only legal in certain circumstances. This means that when teams are gaining permissions for this kind of activity in LinkSpace, they can be sure that process compliance has been rigorously adhered to.
In our highly tailored workflow, MOJ staff can apply for the relevant permissions, and be assured that successful applications ensure they are acting within the necessary parameters of the RIPA legislation. Staff also know there’s a full audit trail to prove it.
Ctrl O: impeccable, person-centred service
Here at Ctrl O, our team are always on the end of the phone, and on first name terms with our clients. They are ready to provide any necessary tech support or training, answer any queries, and make any locally-authorised changes to ensure each system meets the exact needs of individual forces.
This is a detailed, collaborative and person-centred process, where clients test configurations and give feedback along the way. Once a system is up and running, even large updates can be made extremely fast - in hours and days, such as when there are legal or policy changes that affect hundreds or even thousands of cases.
Procure directly through the Bluelight Commercial Framework
We’re delighted that our LinkSpace system for Covert Case Management has been accepted onto the Bluelight Commercial Framework for Covert Management Systems.
The latest version of this framework is now live.
This means that UK police forces and wider sector bodies now have the option to direct award to a supplier on the framework such as ourselves. They can also carry out a mini competition if they have specific requirements.
To be accepted onto this framework involved undertaking a rigorous selection process, to make sure that a system meets the exact requirements of covert case management. It also involved demoing each of the six modules in front of policing leaders and experts who sit managing those areas.
Being accepted provides a high level of confidence that the policing teams who use these tools, have been actively involved in the ’due diligence’ process, which aims to ensure that commercial companies can actually deliver on the policing requirements.
More details on this framework can be found on the Bluelight Commercial website.
